TOUCH THE DARK

Author(s):

This debut novel is an entertaining romp, marred only in the beginning by Chance's awkward world-building. Once the story gets going, the flaws fade away and the reader is pulled into Cassie's struggle to survive an internecine conflict that has pitted various vampire factions against each other.
A highlight of the book is Cassie and Mircea's complex relationship. They have a scene that's steamy and advances the plot -- a rare thing, indeed. Cassie's a strong and fiercely independent protagonist, and fans of this popular subgenre should definitely give this novel a chance.
