Although she survived her last battle with the Thrall queen vampire, Kate Reilly's life hasn't gotten any less complex. Not only is she being sued for complicity in a murder, she's also the target of a serial killer. Then Kate's forced into helping the Thrall vampires investigate the disappearance of their young. The only bright spot is her deepening romance with her werewolf neighbor, Tom Bishop.

However, even that is under siege. The local werewolf pack is not happy with their relationship, and they're determined to undermine it. With everything she knows and loves on the line, Kate will do whatever it takes to find a way to survive and defeat her myriad enemies. In a battle like this, she could use a few more allies.

Kate is back and ready to rumble in the outstanding sequel to last year's amazing Touch of Evil. This edgy, dark tale is chock full of rich characters and conflicting loyalties. Kate's first-person perspective adds poignancy to the story of a woman pushed to the edge. The paranormal genre was richly blessed when this virtuoso duo joined their ranks.(TOR PARANORMAL ROMANCE, Jun., 320 pp., $6.99)
