When werewolf Luc Herrick sets out on a mission to find a healer to save a child's life, he doesn't expect to find his mate, but the moment he sets eyes on Samantha Warren, he knows they're destined for one another. Unfortunately, while Samantha is aware of her healing abilities, she doesn't know that she's half wolf. When it becomes obvious that others wish to harness Samantha's powers for evil, Luc must not only protect his love, he has to save his pack. This is the dramatic premise of Karen Whiddon's suspenseful Touch of the Wolf (4).
She wonderfully maintains the suspense while developing the love affair between two likable and compassionate characters. Samantha and Luc draw you in from the first page, and the mythology behind Samantha's powers is interesting.
