A new book from the pen of Patricia McKillip is always a thing of beauty, and her May hardcover novel, THE TOWER AT STONY WOOD (4) is no exception. It begins with the wedding of a king, at which his most loyal knight is told that the new queen is in fact an impostor. The true Lady of Skye, he is informed, is held prisoner in a tower. And so begins a perilous quest in which the knight must face both wonder and enchantment, only to discover that the real magic is in the human spirit. Ms. McKillip is in fine form indeed, creating one of her most appealing heroes and an ambiance of pure enchantment for lucky readers.
