IN THIS TOWN (4.5) by Beth Andrews: When Massachusetts state police detective Walker Bertrand is sent to Mystic Point to investigate the relationship of a police chief and his assistant chief, he meets Tori Mott, sister to the assistant chief involved in the affair. Worried about his investigation, Walker tries to deny his attraction to Tori, but the sexy waitress and single mom proves impossible to resist. Tori soon has Walker involved in solving the mystery of who killed her mom years earlier. Andrews’ talent for sparkling dialogue makes this a must-read. Walker and Tori’s relationship is sexy, and the tension between the two comes across as very realistic. Plus, the addition of the unresolved murder plot adds nice depth to the story.
