After getting a "Dear John" letter from his fiancee, Lieutenant Commander Michael Kavanaugh goes home for the holidays with a Navy buddy who actually lives in A Town Called Christmas (4). Once there, he is attracted to his friend's sister, Mary York, and is surprised to learn she's expecting a child. Dealing with a failed relationship of her own, Mary isn't sure that she can rely on a man who seems to have commitment problems. Carrie Alexander's latest is a mostly lighthearted story about second chances set during the holidays in a town that takes full advantage of its name. She does a great job of making her characters' emotional insecurity real.
