THE TRUTH ABOUT VAMPIRES (4) by Theresa Meyers: As trejan, Dmitri Dionotte is responsible for his vampire clan’s secrecy, security and safety, something that’s becoming harder to do as vampires are leaving blood-drained bodies and vital organs around town. When reporter Kristen Reed gets close to the truth, Dmitri steps in to control the information that is fed to the populace about vampires. Soon Dmitri is also protecting Kristen from an evil faction of vampires who want her dead. Meyers presents a well-written story with a fascinating vampire subculture. The existence of a clan with rules is reminiscent of the old ‘90s TV series Kindred: The Embraced, but the reveal to humans is entirely new and quite well written. The panic that ensues is colorfully depicted.
