TRUTH AND DARE (4) by Candace Havens: Dr. Patience Clark, the Stonegate Investigative Agency’s forensic anthropologist, heads into the field to solve a 20-year-old cold case involving Cade Randall’s murdered father. She stays at Cade’s grandmother’s B&B while investigating the crime. Cade’s a tough Texas rancher and successful businessman, not the type of guy that the scientifically-minded Patience usually goes for, but that’s also part of his appeal. The steamy romance and small-town political intrigue will have readers turning the pages, although a subplot involving Patience’s kidnapped brother is unnecessarily melodramatic.
