Book Review

by Jessica Conant-Park and Susan Conant

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

This Gourmet Girl mystery doesn't have the necessary ingredients to make it a story worth sinking your teeth into. The murder victim is despised by everyone, the sleuthing is slow-paced and the suspense is nonexistent. Put this one on the back burner.

Chloe Carter leads a very busy life. She's finishing up her first year of grad school. Her boyfriend, Josh Driscoll, the executive chef
of a new upscale restaurant, needs Chloe's support. And her best friend, Adrianna, is pregnant, miserable
and wants Chloe's help dealing
with her situation. To top it off,
Chloe finds a waitress from Josh's restaurant murdered.

Chloe gets entangled in the murder investigation when Adrianna's fiance, Owen, becomes a person of interest
in the murder. Chloe needs to clear Owen's name and stay out of trouble at the same time. Can life get any
more complicated? (BERKLEY PRIME CRIME, Mar., 288 pp., $23.95)
