TWILIGHT WARRIOR (3) by Aimée Thurlo: P.I. Laura Perry is determined to nail the maniac who killed her friend and other women, and there’s only one man she’d trust to watch her back. The problem is that she hadn’t seen Det. Travis Black-sheep since they were teens, and she’s operating more on intuition than hard evidence. Though pleased to see her, Travis is worried about Laura’s involvement with the investigation. His concern is justified when the killer sets his sights on Laura. Working together is the only way they can survive, but can they rely on their teenage connection to keep them together? The characters’ relationship takes a backseat to the action and the dog is the real scene-stealer here.
