This is a riveting story about Venus and Jake, her movie-star husband. It’s a hairy ride to see if love and trust can survive one scandal and surprise after another. Thomas does it again with a fantastic read.

Venus Parson is thrilled that JP finally has a hot acting career. But Sirena Lassiter, his co-star, desperately wants him and Venus isn’t happy when their promotion schedule takes them to exotic locales while she stays at home. Strangely, it’s the advice of the woman who once tried to take her daughter from her, Trevelle Doval, the queen of late-night evangelical TV, that gets Venus’ attention. When she decides to fight for her man by any means necessary, the paparazzi feast like piranhas. (St. Martin’s Griffin, Jun., 288 pp., $13.99)
