If you have not read the other books in this series, you will be lost in this one. Everyone is part of this disjointed story, and there are multiple references to previous plotlines — so much so that it is very confusing. The result feels like a mishmash. This is an unfortunate stumble from a gifted humorous paranormal author.

Ysolde has been resurrected and given a task by the First Dragon, but she does not know what said task is. Baltic, her mate and wyvern of the black dragons, is not sharing information. His guard Thala is hostile to Ysolde and won’t tell her anything either. She has only her friends May and Aisling to help her. There are many complications to Ysolde’s quest, and they seem to only cause more confusion. Unfortunately, her memory did not come along with her resurrection and the visions of the past that she keeps falling into are not helping. Will she and Baltic die again before she solves the riddle?
