The latest in Dane’s shapeshifter series is red hot. More time for the romance to build rather than relying on the characters’ history would have been perfect, and Akio, the anchor for Michelle and Josh’s mating, could have used a bit more page time before getting thrown in as a trusted party. But the sexual chemistry is off the charts between Michelle and Josh, and Dane manages to keep the surprises coming, even seven books in.

When Michelle Slattery’s best friend Allie goes missing, it looks like the work of dark magic. Turning to another coven for help, Michelle is sent to a wolf pack for assistance, only to find the pack’s Enforcer is her high school sweetheart Josh Neelan. Michelle isn’t ready to trust Josh, who left her without so much as a goodbye, but Josh quickly realizes Michelle is his mate — and that they’re all in far more danger than they thought.
