UNDER THE MISTLETOE WITH JOHN DOE (3) by Judy Duarte: When uptight, work-obsessed executive Jason Alvarez leaves a bar one night, he is mugged, beaten and left with amnesia. When he is brought to the local hospital, he is tended to by Dr. Betsy Nielson. It’s attraction at first sight for both of them. Yet after going through a bad marriage, Betsy is hesitant to get involved with him because she doesn’t want to get hurt again. Little by little Jason regains his memory and undergoes a change in heart and personality thanks to his interaction with Betsy and a few locals in the town where he stays to recuperate. Betsy’s heart changes too as she works to let go of past hurts. This story’s thin. A predictable plot coupled with little conflict makes it an average, though enjoyable read.
