CIA operative Hunter Couviyon has tracked a baby-selling operation from Europe to Charleston, South Carolina, where he discovers his ex-fiancée Eden is connected to the case. Eden's pregnant sister is missing, and she may have been kidnapped by criminals whose tactics involve murdering mothers. Helene might be dead, but Eden is determined to find the baby. Hunter's agency sees a benefit to involving the closely connected civilian in a sting where the two play a husband and wife looking to adopt. Amy J. Fetzer creates characters with some charm, though Undercover Marriage (2) is less than smoothly executed. A too-convenient, too-coincidental plot and some painful dialogue make this a problematic read.
