UNDRESSING MR. DARCY

Author(s):

Undressing Mr. Darcy is a fun adventure that Jane Austen fans are sure to love. Doornebos crafts a clever tale that blends the beauty of Regency England with a modern-day romance between a woman who is never far from her social media accounts and a Mr. Darcy reenactor who is adorably old-fashioned in every way. As the heroine would probably say, it’s a #GoodRead.

PR rep Vanessa Roberts is a master at living in an age when thoughts can be conveyed in 140 characters or less. When her elderly aunt, a Jane Austen fanatic, asks her to take over PR for Julian Chancellor, an Englishman who wrote a book called My Year as Mr. Darcy, Vanessa agrees but doesn’t think it’s a big deal. But then she meets Julian, who has started an “Undressing Mr. Darcy” strip show — not only to promote the book, but to help save his estate. Vanessa is wildly attracted to him. But can this thoroughly modern lady truly find her prince charming in this old-fashioned guy? Or is she just distracted by the romance of it all? (BERKLEY, Dec., 368 pp., $15.00)
