This entry of the Dalton Gang takes some getting into, but it is worth the effort. If you’re new to the series, the reveals of past history are a little slow to develop. This couple has a lot of baggage to resolve, but they do manage to find love in the midst of a tiny ranching town. They also find many ways, and places, to steam up the pages. This, folks, is a fine example of erotic romance, with the emphasis on romance.
Everly left an abusive situation and is not looking for anything other than a news story to complete her latest assignment. Boone is trying to save the ranch he inherited along with Dax and Casper, but after four years in Crow Hill he is finally noticing Everly and he likes what he sees. He’s seen his buddies settle down and wants that for himself, but the precarious financial state of the ranch keeps him from trying to be with her. Everly needs to let down the walls she has built up and allow Boone to make her whole again. (BERKLEY, Aug, 352 pp., $16.00)
