Wealthy socialite
Grace Woodward Hall's
life is entirely too compli-cated. Her marriage is all but over,
she is battling with her board of directors and now one of her dear friends
has been murdered.

When an article on New York socialites is found next to Grace's friend's body,
the police fear they have a serial killer
on their hands. As Grace is prominently featured in the article, her friends insist that she speak with security expert John Smith. But Grace is startled to discover that John is the same man whom she shared a sizzling kiss with at a recent fund-raiser.

John quickly makes it clear that if he takes the case, he'll expect Grace to follow his every direction. Knowing they'll lock horns, Grace declines John's services— until another woman in the article is
brutally murdered. Keeping Grace alive quickly becomes much more than a job to John.

Searing tension and intense emotion add special flair to this sensational romantic suspense. With just a few
books, Bird has established herself as
a large presence in today's romance genre. (Mar., 376 pp., $6.99)
