THE UNLIKELY WIFE
THE UNLIKELY WIFE (3) by Debra Ullrick: Idaho Territory, 1885: When Michael Bowen first meets Selina Farleigh Bowen, the woman he married sight unseen, he is shocked and disappointed. She is nothing like the letters she wrote. The discovery that her friend wrote the letters for her and wasn’t entirely honest displeases both of them. The fact that Michael is well off intimidates Selina. Yet as his family embraces her and Michael sees what a kind and warm-hearted woman is hidden beneath her rough exterior, they begin to accept that God may have meant them to be together. The hero’s journey from what he thinks he wants to God’s revelation of what he really wants and needs makes for a lovely story. though there are some scenes that could have used more detail.
