Genre: Historical Romance, Paranormal
Setting: Mythical Middle Eastern Kingdom

RT Rating

Jones' talent for blending fantasy into a well-crafted historical romance makes her stories readable for non-fantasy readers as well as those who adore touches of the supernatural. By adding a hero with a multiple personality (think Jekyll and Hyde), an untouchable heroine and sizzling sexual tension she reaches new heights.

Jahn, the Emperor of Colymbyana, sends his twin brother, Alix, to escort two of six potential brides to the palace. One of the women is exotic slave Sanura, who possesses the ability to see into a man's soul and to bring her master incredible pleasure. However, if some of the blue dye that covers her from head to toe is transferred to another, it means certain death.

Sanura is drawn to Alix by the knowledge that he is tormented by an alternate personality that's as hostile as he is kind. When he is unjustly accused of murder she helps him clear his name -- and the love that sizzles between them can mean salvation or ruin. (Berkley Sensation, Aug., 300 pp., $6.99)
