VALIANT SOLDIER, BEAUTIFUL ENEMY
by Diane Gaston

Genre: Regency Period, Historical Romance, England
Sensuality: HOT
Setting: Regency England

RT Rating

Passion takes a backseat to history in Gaston’s final book in her Three Soldiers series. The story of star-crossed lovers is predictable but nevertheless an enjoyable read.

During the Battle of Badajoz, Captain Gabriel Deane rescues Emmaline Mableau from rape by British soldiers. He finds shelter for her and her son and they part ways. Fate brings them together again in Brussels, where they are finally free to fall in love, but war and betrayal separate them again. Now, Emmaline has come to London to ask Gabriel for help. Her grown son is in England hunting down the man who tried to rape her and killed her husband. Emmaline will do anything to save her son, even marry her enemy. (HARLEQUIN, Sep., 314 pp., $6.25)
