THE VAMPIRE'S SEDUCTION
THE VAMPIRE’S SEDUCTION (4) by Cynthia Cooke: After his entire vampire clan is abducted by witches only months after moving to New York City, vampire Nicholai plots to use one of the witches to infuse himself with demon essence and free his friends. But when he meets Mari Saguna and realizes she’s innocent in his friends’ abduction, his feelings for her begin to grow. When Mari agrees to help free his friends, Nicholai realizes he can’t sacrifice her to save his clan. Instead he seeks her help. When they learn that it’s actually Mari’s blood that’s being used to paralyze the vampires, the two realize it’s more important than ever to keep her away from her evil brother, who runs the compound where she’s been staying. The chemistry between Mari and Nicholai is very well drawn. From start to finish, they’re either battling or loving. Cooke provides nothing but nonstop excitement in this story; the only (slight) drawback is the quick — and offscreen — death of one of the characters.
