Finder's corporate thriller starts off strong. The plot is intriguing, and the characters are, for the most part, interesting and well developed. But this great read is tempered by complexities that seem unnecessary -- convoluted associations among several companies, for example -- and by occasional leaps of logic. Nonetheless, if you can overlook the minor faults and simply go along for the ride, this is an exciting read.
Intelligence investigator Nick Heller is looking into a case involving the disappearance of cargo from a plane when he receives a call from his nephew Gabe. Gabe's parents were attacked, and now his mom is in the hospital and his dad, Nick's brother, has disappeared. Was he kidnapped? Is he dead? Nick and his brother haven't had much to do with each other for the past few years, but now that Roger is missing, Nick is determined to find out what happened to him. (ST.
