If you like your YA dark and eerie, snatch up this outstanding book. Marks (aka talented UF author Mark Henry) delivers a dark revenge fantasy set in a remorselessly gray-toned Purgatory. Geared toward older teens, there is a desolate beauty and horrifying brutality to this complex novel featuring a prickly murdered teen. Chilling, graphic and totally unforgettable!

When she was 16, Velveteen Monroe was kidnapped and murdered by the serial killer Bonesaw. Now Velvet resides in Purgatory, an ashy gray, crumbling world. Although Velvet works as a member of a salvage team recovering wayward souls, she still wants vengeance. Hauntings are strictly forbidden, but Velvet’s determined to save Bonesaw’s next victims. The arrival of cute new recruit Nick complicates things, but the real danger may be from the mysterious revolutionary group the Departurists.
