Tricia Parker loved Jeremy Blackstone as a teenager, even after he broke her heart and betrayed her trust by leaving her without a word. Years later, she finally revisits the horse farm where they grew up—only to find him still there, badly injured and in need of her care. For years, Jeremy has carried around hurt because he thinks Tricia betrayed him. Tricia and Jeremy find their love again, but she chooses not to tell him an important but painful secret. Can Jeremy find it in his heart to forgive her a second time? Very Private Duty (3) by Rochelle Alers is a mixed read. While the characters share an obvious and enjoyable sexual chemistry, they also have a complex past based partly on deception. At times, it feels like we're only getting half their story because so much happened before the book begins.
