Clementine has done everything to encourage her Christmas Rose to blossom in time for her art exhibit, but nothing has worked, in A VICTORIAN ROSE (4). Her distress is put on hold when the vile Dr. Paul Baine visits the conservatory. Paul knows he deserves poor treatment for his reprehensible behavior but Clemma's initial outrage turns to compassion and all too soon he finds himself drawn to the one person who seems to be able to forgive him. 'Tis the season for novellas and this is certainly one you'll want to read. Catherine Palmer keeps the reader turning pages, wondering how this romance could possibly blossom, just like the Christmas Rose. (Sep., 126 pp., $12.99)
