When her husband's small plane disappears, photographer Stefanie Larkin tries not to panic. Nick Marsden is a seasoned pilot, so there's no reason to believe the worst. But as the hours creep by with no word on his whereabouts, Stefanie starts to doubt -- and to read the journal she's kept for decades. Reliving her life with Nick, Stefanie realizes how much they've been through, and how much she loves him. Now Stefanie can only pray and hope Nick comes back to her. Rebecca Winters' The Vow (4) lacks a traditional "hook," but it's well written, and the characters have unusual depth. The ending is lovely too.
