McGuire’s follow-up to the amazingly addictive Beautiful Disaster is the same story told from Travis’s POV. It’s interesting to see Travis’ neediness up close, helping us to better understand his temper. Readers can really see what Abby’s on-again-off-again high jinks did to the poor guy. Alas, not getting to see hottie Travis punch things from smitten Abby’s POV makes him far less swoon-worthy. A satisfying conclusion and epilogue gives fans closure.

Ever since Travis Maddox’s mother died, he’s been hurting. Unwilling or unable to let a woman into his life, he’s happy to sleep with any girl who’s around, so long as he can quickly get rid of her afterward. Until, of course, he meets the aloof, sexy Abby Abernathy. Travis has met his match. Let’s hear his side of the story. (ATRIA, Apr., 448 pp., $15.00, ISBN: 9781476712987, TR, 17 & Up)
