In the follow-up to her dazzling debut novel, Grimspace, Aguirre throws her wounded yet dogged heroine back into the breach. Vivid worldbuilding accented with gut-wrenching action ensures that following Sirantha Jax through her first-person adventures will leave you breathless. Aguirre doesn't skimp on the character development either, as this motley crew must adapt to changing galactic circumstances. Brava!

Still recovering from the events that led to her bringing down the powerful galactic Farwan Corporation, Jax accepts a job offer from the rising government. Because of her link to bounty hunter Velith from Ithiss-Tor, Jax has been named as the ambassador in a diplomatic mission to establish closer ties with Ithiss-Tor.

Not trusting the government, Jax, her pilot and lover March and mechanic Dina obtain their own ship; however, nothing goes as planned. Syndicate criminals, clan wars and man-eating aliens all threaten to end this mission before it even gets started. How did a grimspace junkie like Jax ever become the hope of the galaxy?
