This last book in Fallon's Wolfblade Trilogy can be read as a stand-alone, but it's better read as part of the set. Fallon does a great job of weaving interesting characters into great plots. This is an excellent read.
Damin leaves Krankandar ready for battle, but the brewing war is concluded far sooner than he expected. As he attempts to return to the city, he discovers entry into Krankandar is impossible. It seems his evil uncle Markas has sealed the city to prevent Damin's return, and now no one is allowed in or out. Damin must team up with Starros, who has begun to dream of inflicting horrible pain on Markas, to free the inhabitants and defeat Markas. Will Starros' plan of stealing the people of Krankandar out from under Markas' nose succeed? (TOR, Aug., 508 pp., $26.95)
