The cover line says it all: "Two serial thrillers in one killer book." Some of today's hottest suspense and thriller writers, including Lee Child, Lisa Scottoline, Gayle Lynds and M.J. Rose, have collaborated on two serial novellas, conceived by Deaver, with nonstop action, intriguing characters and palpable tension. The chapters, each written by a different author, flow seamlessly, and the plot twists are unpredictable and exciting.

In "The Chopin Manuscript," former war crimes investigator Harold Middleton returns to service when a music score that he's hired to authenticate turns out to involve a whole lot more than music. An international terrorist ring is using the manuscript as a means to carry out a mass killing.

Reunited and back in business, Middleton and his fellow team members return in "The Copper Bracelet" to thwart plans to start a nuclear war between India and Pakistan and their superpower allies. Harold and his team must find the mastermind behind the scheme and stop him. (VANGUARD, Jan., 404 pp., $25.95)
