Book Review

WATERFALL
by Lisa T. Bergren

Genre: Inspirational, Young Adult

RT Rating

Bergren creates wonderful real heroines in sisters Gabi and Lia, who are forced to question the world they have come to, and how to return to the present time. The book, the first in the River of Time series, is written for a younger audience, but will be enjoyed by readers of any age, thanks to suspense-filled scenes and a lesson in the importance of family.

Gabi and Lia Betarrini are the daughters of archeologists, who spend as much time working in Italy as they can. With their dad recently deceased and their mother busy with work, the bored sisters decide to explore a newly opened tomb. Suddenly, they’re transported back in time to the Renaissance era. The sisters must find out how to get back home — or decide if they even want to. (DAVID C. COOK, Feb., 352 pp., $14.99)
