Take a little Cinderella, add in some Beauty and the Beast, and the result is Brown’s sexy tale. Sera and Fletcher are perfect foils for each other’s shortcomings and even better partners for their strengths. Add in an excellent secondary cast and a great story, and the result is outstanding.

Seraphina Miller attends Waywroth Academy courtesy of an anonymous benefactor who sees to all her material needs. When she discovers Fletcher Thomas, Digger, from her old days in the stews, is the one paying her bills, she retaliates in a most unusual fashion: She sets out to put his house in order. Underworld mogul and gambling hell owner Fletcher has worked hard to rise above his rough beginnings and achieve respectability. Apparently money is not enough, as he can’t buy his way into society. During a moment caught between lust and practicality, Sera and Fletcher agree to marry. Wedded life is not all bliss as Sera doubts her own morality. Then, threats against Sera’s well-being come to light. (SAMHAINPUBLISHING.COM, dl $5.50)
