A WEAVER HOLIDAY HOMECOMING
A WEAVER HOLIDAY HOMECOMING (3) by Allison Leigh: Tracking down covert operative Ryan Clay is imperative for Dr. Mallory Keegan. Ryan was her late sister's lover and has no idea he's the father of her 7-year-old daughter, Chloe. Once he hears the news, Ryan is willing to do right by Chloe, but he's ill-prepared for parenthood. He's also not equipped to handle the feelings he's developing for Mallory. Serious involvement isn't for him, and she's not interested in an affair. The characters are ably written -- moody hero Ryan particularly so -- and the plot is plausible enough. There's little conflict though, and the way Ryan enters their lives seems unlikely.
