The final volume in The Warrior King series is a wonderful read for medievalists. This romance’s believable and unusual cast of characters and fast moving plot, fraught with twists and turns, make for an appealing read.

Trey MacAlpin is accosted by King Kenneth’s soldiers, in an attempt to press him into service. Unexpectedly, a young Pict woman, Bliss, identifies Trey as her husband, convincing the soldiers to leave. As Trey accompanies her to his clan’s stronghold, he feels an unexpected attraction to her. Bliss had a vision that she would meet her husband on this trip and isn’t quite sure how she feels about Trey. After surviving several attacks by Kenneth’s men, Bliss realizes she is falling in love. But these are dangerous times, and their love is tested. (AVON, Nov., 384 pp., $7.99)
