A WEEK TILL THE WEDDING (3) by Linda Winstead Jones: When Daisy Bell agrees to pretend to be engaged to ex-boyfriend Jacob Tasker for the sake of his ailing grandmother, it’s a painful decision. She is still angry over the fact that Jacob gave up their relationship for his career. Though it’s been seven years since they went their separate ways, both discover that the chemistry between them hasn’t changed and that the love they shared once is still there. Daisy and Jacob are solid, likable characters who draw you into their story. But the predictable premise of a couple pretending to be engaged for the sake of family makes this story fall a little flat.
