WELCOME HOME, DADDY
WELCOME HOME, DADDY (4) by Carrie Weaver: After a one-night stand with a reservist called to active duty, Annie Marsh is with child. Convinced for a time that he's been killed in an explosion, Annie is stunned when Drew Vincent shows up at her door -- and he's surprised when she introduces him to his son, Micah. Soon they discover that their attraction hasn't slowed down a bit. Weaver deftly depicts Drew's and Annie's emotions. Drew is appropriately shocked over Micah's existence and then steadfast in his desire to do the right thing, while Annie is convincing in her insecurity. Both characters are quite realistic.
