Thompson has built a solid reputation as a charming, witty and fun paranormal writer and her latest doesn’t disappoint. The cast is delightful and charming. Thompson expertly blends an amusing plot, entertaining dialogue and compelling characters.

Emma Gavin is a paranormal writer who pens books about werewolves. When she starts receiving creepy letters from a fan claiming to be a werewolf, she’s assigned a bodyguard — the sexy Aidan Wallace. Only Aidan lives in a different world from her (in more ways than one). He’s rich and accustomed to living in a manner she finds wasteful. Oh, and he’s a werewolf.

Aidan is heir to Manhattan’s most powerful werewolf pack. When Emma gets too close to the truth about their race, he’s assigned to uncover what she knows. He’s soon convinced she doesn’t know anything about werewolves — she just got lucky. Too bad he’s very attracted to her. Protecting her and keeping his identity secret is difficult. As they grow closer, he may have to risk everything his family stands for to keep her safe. (SIGNET ECLIPSE, Jan., 336 pp., $7.99)
