Have a few tissues handy for the last entry in the Compass Brothers series. The authors have created a passionate look into one couple’s emotional struggles faced while dealing with external pressures. Familiar characters abound, but the book stands alone.

Small-town girl Leah is looking for adventure in the big city. She goes to a BDSM club where she sees Sawyer, a man from her hometown, who claims her as his sub. She resists his attempts to control her, but he wins out. When they return to the real world, Sawyer’s brothers await with news of whirlwind wedding preparations. He’s not ready to relinquish his hold on Leah and draws her into the family dynamics. There’s somber news as well, and friction among the usually-united Sawyer brothers makes the situation unbearable for everyone. (SAMHAINPUBLISHING.COM, dl $4.50)
