Book three in the Kinship and Courage series finds Ruth Martin, Mazy Bacon, Suzanne Cullver and Tipton Kossuth now in California. Though the book is well-written, the four separate stories are overwhelming, with too many characters for one book.

Ruth is determined to head north to Oregon, but Matthew Schmidtke has other ideas for her. Of course, thats only once Ruth gets her divorce from Zane. Matthew doesnt seem to realize that Ruth doesnt want to have anything to do with him, but that wont stop him from trying.

Poor Mazy Bacon doesnt think shell ever find someone who will love her. Even her mother has a new romance, leaving Mazy feeling jealous. As she struggles with her feelings and wonders what shes missing, it appears as if God has not forgotten her after all. Will true love finally blossom for Mazy after meeting Burke Mendes?

Also both Suzanne and Tipton have struggles and romances of their own, so its a very full novelone worth reading if you can follow the characters. (Sep., 400 pp., $13.95)
