The addictive Shadow Keepers series brings yet another walk through history into the present. The characters are seductive, passionate and strong, and the story’s action is neverending. The twist at the end will have readers wondering what could possibly happen next!

During the Civil War a vampire named Sergius sought out a witch, the daughter of voodoo queen Marie Laveau, to help calm his bloodlust. Unfortunately, with a vamp by his side who loves the life they live, things go terribly wrong. Now in present-day Hollywood, Serge lives with his urge to kill, only taking out the monsters who prey on humans. Alexis Martin is also in Hollywood, trying to track down the vamp who took her sister. As Alexis and Serge work from opposite sides to rid the world of vampires, they soon fall in love — and enemies come out of the woodwork. The truth may just cost Serge his passion and Alexis her life. (BANTAM, Jul., 358 pp., $7.99)
