Book Review

WHEN ZEFFIE GOT A CLUE
by Peggy Darty

Genre: Inspirational, Mystery/Thriller/Suspense

RT Rating

Darty has written another fun and engaging cozy mystery. This novel contains characters from previous books, but the reader won't feel lost if this is the first book in the series she reads. One hopes it won't be the last, because the story moves at a quick pace with a light tone and a mystery that is not easily solved.

When young Zeffie Adams brings an old jewelry box into Christy Castleman's secondhand store, Christy feels sorry for the girl. Zeffie is just looking for a few dollars to help with her grandmother's bills. Then Christy discovers that the box is actually a clue to an unsolved murder from many years ago. Can Christy help to solve it, or will she get into trouble for sticking her nose where it doesn't belong? (WATERBROOK, Mar., 352 pp., $13.99)
