Although Jackson's Yada Yada series has ended, this book takes some familiar characters from those novels, adds some new ones and sets the stage for more in the Manna House women's shelter. Although readers will have to wait for the next book to discover what ultimately happens, exquisite characters coupled with God's mercy and love emanate from each page.

Gabrielle Fairbanks has lost sense of who she is after years of raising her children and supporting her husband's career. When they move to Chicago, leaving the boys behind in boarding school, Gabby doesn't quite know what to do. A chance meeting with
a homeless woman leads to a job at Manna House. What can Gabby do when her husband doesn't support her new job, new friends and newfound relationship with God? (THOMAS NELSON, Dec., 400 pp., $14.99)
