WHERE HE BELONGS
Going home is hard for smokejumper Wade Winslow--his foster dad is dying, and he has to face his former lover, teacher Erin McCuen. Named executor of the estate, Wade is forced to stay, and his relationship with Erin reignites. It's complicated, because Erin's got problems of her own, including a huge debt, and she refuses Wade's help--even when she loses her job. All of which cause Wade to take a desperate gamble. Gail Barrett debuts with Where He Belongs (3), a leisurely-paced story with some tender moments. But the heroine's stubbornness and pride grate after a while, and the hero's turnaround at the end seems abrupt.
