Two new cases require the talents of the FBI’s cleverest husband and wife duo. The profile and the stakes are high in both cases, but that won’t faze Sherlock and Savich. Coulter continues to incorporate fresh characters and timely topics into her novels, keeping them clever and highly entertaining.
P.I. Erin Pulaski gets in over her head when she looks into the production problems plaguing a cancer treatment drug. While Erin does some B&E to gain information, a German troubleshooter for the drug company in question is murdered nearby. Sherlock and Savich are sent in to assist FBI agent Bowie Richards as the murder starts to point to serious problems associated with the drug company. Savich also gets tapped when the poisoning of a lobbyist might have been an assassination attempt on a senator. Politics, drugs and money can all add up to multiple motives and murder.
