Book Review

by Elizabeth Camden

Genre: Inspirational, Historical Romance

RT Rating

Camden takes readers on a breathless ride with smart, serious Mollie in the midst of tragedy and ruin. The fast pace of Mollie’s life as she rebuilds her business and discovers romance with Zack keeps interest high, and the inclusion of Zack’s perspective as he bravely keeps his heart open to the woman he loves even after she rejects him adds a depth to the story that lends more satisfaction to the happy ending.

Mollie is content with her life as manager of her late father’s watchmaking business but the Chicago fire of 1871 disrupts her carefully ordered life. She has lost her workshop but refuses to lose hope, especially when a surprise hero emerges in Zack, a lawyer representing the department store that sells her watches. How much can she trust the man who has been indifferent to her for years but now declares his love and his intent to marry her — especially when he works for a company that might be trying to swindle her?
