Book Review

WHIRLWIND GROOM
by Debra Cowan

Genre: Historical Romance
Setting: 1884 Whirlwind, West Texas

RT Rating

Cowan's third novel in her Whirlwind series gives readers a romance about the town's code-of-the-West sheriff.
Besides keeping Whirlwind peaceful, Davis Lee Holt must investigate petite but dangerous Josie Webster. Because she spies on his jail, he suspects she's plotting to help his serial killer prisoner escape.

Josie isn't sure the murderous villain from previous novels in the series will stand trial because a judge allowed him to go free after he killed her parents and fiancé. She's plotting execution and determined that nothing will get in the
way of justice, not even her growing attraction to Davis Lee.

There's lots of sexual tension, high western action, plenty of interest about life in Whirlwind and at least two promising characters to continue this appealing series. SENSUAL (Jan., 300 pp., $5.50)
