Cooke introduces her most unconventional and inspiring heroine to date with tattoo artist Rox. Although the sparks are instantaneous between Rox and the Pyr Niall, each has baggage that makes their firestorm problematic. These highly likable protagonists invest readers immediately in their hazardous journey. Cooke aces another one!

Tattoo artist Rox has spent much of her adult life taking on human “projects” by lending a helping hand to those who are down on their luck. One of these projects is her roommate, the less-than-ambitious Pyr Thorolf. Rox is concerned when Thorolf moves out to work with Niall Talbot. When Rox confronts Niall, the sparks literally fly, for their meeting induces a firestorm. Niall is surprised by Rox’s casual acceptance of dragons, but has no time for the firestorm; he is on a quest to destroy all the remaining Shadow Dragons. What none of the Pyr yet realize is that a powerful and dangerous new enemy is rising, and it’s one that could change the world forever! (SIGNET ECLIPSE, Aug., 416 pp., $7.99)

This is a stand alone book but in the continuing series of the Pyr dragons versus the Slayers.

Yes, the slayers want to destroy the Pyr’s in the forefront this time is Niall Talbot and Rox.

Rox the heroine is both feisty and extremely vulnerable. However , she will fight for underdogs and those less fortunate than her tooth and nail.

Niall Talbot the big bad dragon is trying to run away from his firestorm but he is intrigued by Rox.

Things get hot when the villain in this piece unleashes deadly forces against this couple and their friends.
