Intricately plotted and exquisitely detailed, Clark's latest novel is
fantastic. There's a gothic feel throughout, and the outcome of the mystery
is fascinating. Miranda has a balanced amount of curiosity, spunk and
caution, which make her seem realistic and approachable. Mystery lovers should move this to the top of their
purchase lists.

Miranda Miller cannot figure out why she keeps her husband and daughter at arm's length. Her life is good, but something is definitely missing. When she receives news that she needs to go to Louisiana to receive information about the estate that she'll be inheriting, she jumps at the chance, even though her aunt cautions her against the trip. Once there, she remembers things about her past that have been buried for years, things that others do not want her to recall. (HARVEST HOUSE, Jan., 350 pp., $13.99)
