Rising star Stone takes a good thing and makes it even better with the expansion of her paranormal world. In her Jaguar Warriors books, Stone introduced secondary characters with their own supernatural qualities and now those characters form the basis of the League of Guardians series. In this launch title, second chances and self-sacrifice highlight a story that is packed with sizzling passion and peril.

Sorcerer Declan O’Hara was rescued from the torments of hell by the annoying and mysterious Seraphim calling himself “Bill.” In repayment, Declan is now part of a group of soldiers called the Seraph who follow Bill’s orders. Declan has been ordered to NOLA to locate an individual being protected by a mysterious vampire. Once he locates the pair, Declan is shocked to discover that the individual is a teenage boy and the protector is Ana DeLacrux, the vampire who was killed several years ago.

Ana too has been rescued from hell and has her own mission: protecting Kaden from harm. Before their individual journeys to hell, there was a spark of attraction between Declan and Ana; now that spark is turning into a raging fire! (AVON, May, 384 pp., $7.99)
